Hehe...manager's special indeed. I guess the rule is with fish sauce, the stinkier the better.

Comedy!

Three Craps? That's roughly what I'd give for it. It's an inferior product all around.

Ha! In fact, that was my EXACT thought when I saw it... that you'd find the sign entirely appropriate :-)

Um, if anyone has recommendations for a good brand of fish sauce please do share!!

Funny you should bring this up, Kit!

Give me about a week... I have something in the works :-)

If it doesn't sell as a fish sauce, they can rebrand it as a laxative!

Sorry about the off-topic slant, but I thought you might find this interesting:

Three craps is how you spend the day after eating iffy sale fish sauce.

I use "mother's best" fish sauce. It is Phillipino. I use it because it only has 280mg of salt per tablespoon. That is enough for us. Compared to the other brands in our county's only oriental market, that was why I chose what I did.

Rahul, Thanks for the link. Love TED.

I am always suspicious of fish sauce, even though people keep telling me it does not taste like fish. I dunno. I just keep thinking of that famous, and now sadly gone, sign from the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo: 'Please take advantage of our chambermaids.'
